25+ Years in ABA
Former President of CalABA
Founded and led ABA centers
Now Clinical Advisor at Theralytics

We’re excited to introduce Dr. Amanda Nicolson, Ph.D., BCBA-D, who recently joined Theralytics as a Clinical Advisor. With more than 25 years in the field of ABA, Amanda has worn many hats — professor, agency owner, consultant, evaluator, published academic author and advocate. Her diverse experiences give her a unique lens on how ABA has grown, where it’s headed, and how technology can help move the field forward.

A Career Shaping the Field

Amanda’s background is rooted in both clinical practice and academia. She has:

  • Founded and directed ABA centers, including the Central California Autism Center at Fresno State.
  • Founded and currently leads Education Behavior Consultants, Inc. (EBC) as President/CEO, providing consultation and evaluations in schools across California. Today, her team supports over 25 districts and 50 students in public school settings.
  • Worked as a professor at Pepperdine University, the Chicago School for Professional Psychology, and California State University, Fresno, where she also founded and directed the autism center.
  • Served on the Board of Directors for the California Association for Behavior Analysis (CalABA), including as President (2021–2022) and currently as PR & Marketing Chair.
  • Published in peer-reviewed journals, authored book chapters, and presented at regional, national, and international conferences.

Her career reflects a consistent theme: bridging research, education, and practice to improve access and quality of services for families.

A Unique Perspective for ABA’s Future

Amanda has watched ABA evolve over nearly three decades — from the early days of limited awareness and resources to today’s more widespread access and recognition. She brings the perspective of someone who has been in classrooms, clinics, universities, and boardrooms, and she’s passionate about applying that knowledge to tools that help providers thrive.

At Theralytics, she’s most excited about the company’s openness to feedback and commitment to supporting clinicians. By contributing to our knowledge base, she’s helping ensure that agencies of all sizes have resources that are clinically relevant, practical, and aligned with best practices.

Looking Ahead

When asked what excites her about the future, Amanda points to creativity and innovation: “Theralytics has grown so much over the years, and I’m excited to use my clinical knowledge in new ways that reach a broader audience of behavior analysts. This team truly listens to the field, and that’s what makes the work so meaningful.”

We couldn’t agree more. Welcome, Amanda, we’re excited to have you on the team!
